It is what it is ! That is Trump,judgement of the pandemic.No plan,no strategy,no vision.In the meantime the numbers of cases and deaths are increasing at an alarming rate warning us of the possibility of reaching thousands more deaths before the year is over.It is what it is are not the words that the people ravaged by a pandemic expect to heard from their President.Only the President could by legal orders make wearing masks and keeping social distance mandatory,but by some inexplicable reason he refuse to do that.As long as 50 states and 50 governors debate among themselves the strategy against the virus,the battle will be long and sad.
Adding to the chaos is the absurd political peculiarity of
making the protective mask a political symbol.Trump,and the republicans refuse to wear the mask because it is an imposition that deprive them of their civil rights and individual freedom.The lack of that federal leadership has been devastating in the struggle for control of the pandemic.It is what it is ! It will disapear soon,it will go away are phrases repeated so many times before that they are no longer means of comfort and hope.
